Vidyavardhaka first Grade College was established in the year 1978 under the auspices of Vidyavardhaka Sangha (R). This College is affiliated to the University of Mysore, MYSORE, under section 12(B) and section 2F of UGC and is recognized by the Government of Karnataka and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) programme, introduced in 2021, with an annual intake of 120 students. The programme is designed to provide a strong foundation in computer science, programming, software development, and information technology and exclusively focusing on AI/ML. It equips students with the technical knowledge and practical skills required by the IT industry and covers key areas such as programming languages, database management, web technologies, networking, and software engineering. Through a combination of classroom learning, laboratory work, and project-based activities, the programme prepares students for careers in information technology, software development, entrepreneurship, and higher studies in computer applications and related fields.

Eligibility: Candidates who have passed the two-year Pre-University Examination (PUC) conducted by the Karnataka State Pre-University Board or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto are eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) programme. Students from any stream—Science, Commerce, or Arts—with Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Computer Applications, Business Mathematics, or a related subject at the qualifying examination level may seek admission, subject to the rules and regulations in force.
