Induction Programme and Launching of MCA Course

The Department of Computer Applications proudly launched the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Programme for the academic year 2025–26, welcoming the first-year students with great enthusiasm. The inauguration ceremony was conducted in the presence of distinguished dignitaries, faculty members, and students.

The MCA programme aims to provide advanced knowledge and practical skills in emerging areas such as software development, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing.

An Induction Programme was organized to familiarize students with the curriculum, academic regulations, facilities, and career opportunities. Faculty members motivated the students to focus on innovation, discipline, and professional excellence.

The institution extends its best wishes to the MCA 2025–26 batch for a successful and enriching academic journey.

Outdoor Activity

The Department organized an Outdoor Activity Programme for faculty members and students with a visit to Varuna Lake and Kunti Betta. The trip began at Varuna Lake, where participants enthusiastically engaged in activities such as river rafting, kayaking, and pedal boating, making the experience both adventurous and refreshing.

Later, the group proceeded to Kunti Betta, where they enjoyed trekking and climbing down the rocks, embracing the thrill of the natural terrain. The activity promoted teamwork, physical fitness, and stronger bonding between faculty and students. It was a memorable and energizing experience for everyone involved.

Poster Presentation Competition for MCA Students

The Department of Computer Applications organized a Poster Presentation Competition for the MCA students to encourage creativity, research aptitude, and effective communication skills. The event provided a platform for students to explore and present innovative ideas on emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Data Science, Cloud Computing, Blockchain, and IoT.

Students enthusiastically participated by designing informative and visually appealing posters that highlighted contemporary technological trends, real-world applications, and future advancements. Each participant confidently explained their concepts before the panel of judges, demonstrating their subject knowledge and presentation skills.

Two-Day Technical Training Workshop on Competitive Coding

The Department organized a Two-Day Workshop on Competitive Coding for the 1st Year MCA students to enhance their programming and analytical skills. The programme was formally inaugurated, and the resource person, Mr. Hithendra B M, Software Designer, was warmly welcomed.

During the sessions, Mr. Hithendra shared valuable insights on algorithmic thinking, coding strategies, time and space complexity, and effective approaches to competitive programming. The workshop provided hands-on exposure and encouraged students to actively participate in coding contests and technical competitions, making it a highly beneficial learning experience.

Lab Inauguration (Mouseika)

The Department proudly inaugurated the MCA Lab – “Mouseika” in a ceremonial event attended by faculty members and students. The programme commenced with a traditional puja, seeking blessings for success and progress.

The lab was formally inaugurated, marking a significant milestone in strengthening the department’s technical infrastructure. Sweets were distributed to celebrate the occasion and share the joy among all present.

The newly inaugurated lab aims to provide advanced computing facilities and hands-on learning opportunities for MCA students, supporting innovation and practical skill development.

Three-Day Workshop on “Quantitative Aptitude and Logical Reasoning”

The Department organized a Three-Day Workshop on “Quantitative Aptitude and Logical Reasoning” for the 1st Year MCA students to strengthen their analytical and problem-solving abilities. The programme was formally inaugurated, and the resource person, Ms. Naija Anand, Project Manager at 10 Seconds, was warmly welcomed.

The sessions focused on aptitude techniques, logical reasoning strategies, and time management skills essential for competitive examinations and placement preparation. The workshop was interactive and informative, providing practical guidance to help students improve their performance in recruitment assessments and future career opportunities.

CSR Sponsored Course Selection – Global Quest

The Department of Computer Applications is proud to announce that 20 MCA students have been selected for specialized CSR-sponsored courses offered in collaboration with Global Quest.

The selected students will undergo professional training in the following high-demand domains:

  • Data Analytics
  • Data Science
  • Python Full Stack Development
  • Java Full Stack Development
  • Software Testing

These industry-oriented courses are provided completely free of cost to the selected students under the CSR initiative. The programme aims to support deserving candidates by offering advanced technical training without any financial burden.

The training will focus on real-time projects, hands-on sessions, and exposure to current industry tools and technologies, thereby enhancing students’ employability and career readiness.

The Department congratulates the 20 selected students and extends its best wishes for their successful completion of the courses and bright professional careers ahead.

Outreach Programme to Biligiri Ranganatha Hills (B R Hills)

The Departments of MCA and MCom organized a One Day Outreach Programme on “Awareness about Good Health and Addiction” at B R Hills on 16/05/2026 with active participation from students and faculty members. The programme was conducted at Bangale Podu Samudhaya Bhavan, B R Hills, Yelandur Taluk, Chamarajanagar District.

The outreach programme aimed to create awareness among the local tribal and rural communities about good health, hygiene and the harmful effects of addiction. Students actively participated in the awareness activities and interacted with the local residents, gaining valuable exposure to their culture, traditions and lifestyle.

During the visit, the participants also had the darshana of Lord Sri Biligiri Ranganatha Swamy Temple, which made the programme spiritually enriching and memorable. The visit helped students understand the importance of social responsibility, teamwork and community service.

Faculty members guided and encouraged the students throughout the programme, motivating them to develop social values, leadership qualities and environmental awareness. The scenic beauty and peaceful atmosphere of B R Hills made the outreach programme both educational and enjoyable for all participants.

The programme concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation and positive feedback from students and faculty members. The institution appreciates the efforts of the MCA and MCom Departments in organizing such a meaningful and socially beneficial outreach activity.

Inauguration of Information Club and workshop on Research Methodology

 

The Department of Computer Applications proudly inaugurated the Information Technology Club on 20/05/2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students, faculty members and invited dignitaries. The programme was formally inaugurated by Dr. Ravikumar V, who addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of innovation, technical excellence and industry-oriented learning in today’s digital era.

The IT Club has been established with the objective of enhancing students’ technical competencies and encouraging participation in activities related to software development, coding, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. The club aims to provide a vibrant platform for students to develop leadership qualities, teamwork, creativity and problem-solving skills through workshops, technical events, seminars, and competitions.

The inauguration programme was conducted in the forenoon session, followed by an afternoon session featuring a Workshop on Research Methodology handled by Dr. Annapurna H. The session provided valuable insights into research techniques, academic writing and innovative approaches in interdisciplinary research.

Faculty members motivated the students to actively engage in club activities and make effective use of the opportunities provided through the initiative. The institution extends its best wishes to all members of the IT Club and looks forward to their meaningful contributions towards building a dynamic and innovative technical community.
